Board Members : Emilie Cortes

Emilie Cortes holds the Past President advisory role on the AWM Board of Directors. She first served as Co-President in 2004 with Shanon Loftus and then as President in 2005-2006.

Emilie received her MBA in Finance in 2002 from the Haas School of Business at UC, Berkeley, and her BSBA in International Business from American University having graduated first in her class. She is a CFA charterholder.

Emilie is a Director of Client Solutions at Moody's KMV and focuses on account management and sales for the insurance segment.  Previously, she was a Vice President in the Financial Risk Products group of MMC Securities, a securities broker-dealer specializing in structured credit for the insurance industry, and an Associate with The Geneva Companies, a middle-market mergers and acquisitions broker in Southern California.

Beyond AWM, Emilie is involved in a number of other organizations. She is a member of the Financial Womens' Association of SF, 85 Broads, the American Alpine Club, and the Sierra Club. Emilie is an avid outdoorswoman and enjoys mountaineering, rock and ice climbing, backpacking, mountain biking, and kayaking.
