Association of Women MBAs – San Francisco Bay Area Chapter 2010 Board Selection
We are looking for enthusiastic, talented and fun leadership candidates to run the San Francisco AWM chapter in year 2010. Becoming a part of AWM leadership team allows you to develop and strengthen your skills and position you for future opportunities in your own career.
We are currently looking for candidates with one year commitment to be on the 2010 board. Candidates that can attend all board meetings (held once a quarter), actively participates in chapter events (one or two events a month) and performs all duties and responsibilities associated with respective positions.
Vice President:
- Involved in decision making and planning
- Assume role of president as and when needed
- Direct support to the president
- Handles leadership responsibilities as designated by the president / board.
- Assists President with development of a long-range plan and strategic planning
- Support chapter involvement with the directors.
Treasurer:
- Responsible for maintaining bank accounts, establishing authorized check signers, collecting funds from events and membership dues and paying all bills.
- Knowledge of specific federal, state and local charitable tax issues and legal liabilities is a plus.
- Must be familiar with preparing annual tax return with the IRS.
Secretary:
- Responsible for recording meeting minutes, keeping track of officer contact information.
STANDING COMMITTEES
There will be two Directors per Committee.
Membership:
- Responsible for membership drives, sending welcome email to new members and welcome packet via mail once information is received from National.
- Also responsible for recruiting committee members to assist with strategies for identifying, recruiting and retaining members, seeking out opportunities to promote membership at community events, ensuring the chapter has an orientation program for new members to become involved and a budget that reflects those priorities.
- Maintaining data on recruitment rates, membership renewals and reasons for non-renewal.
Marketing & Communications:
- Responsible for creating marketing (online and offline) for all events, membership campaigns, and maintaining website, publicizing events prior to and documenting events after, maintaining a database of press contacts and creating press releases.
- Developing a communications plan with specific and measurable goals and objectives, serving as a media spokesperson in your community, and ensuring the chapter annual budget reflects the above initiatives.
Programs:
- Responsible for executing events with the help of the president and board for the year, including but not limited to event space, cost, speakers, event type, and all food and beverages.
- Collaborating with the other committees to plan the future direction of events.
- Recruit and oversee a planning committee for each event. Creating and submitting a budget.
